Veteran Tampa Bay area Bassist, Tom “TBone” Hamilton, brings his Jazz Quartet back to the Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin, Florida, on Saturday, Feb 20th 2016, at 7:30pm. TBone has been busy lately with his New Orleans funk project – The TBone Hamilton Band. In addition, Tom is a 1st call bassist for several other blues and jazz bands. This Jazz Concert will present songs from the Great American Songbook, and the concert will be a special one as Legendary South Florida Jazz Pianist, Dolph Castellano, will be a feature guest in the quartet. Dolph has performed with a who’s who of local and international Jazz stars— including: Woody Herman, Sam Donahue, Jimmy Dorsey, Art Moony, Ralph Marterie, Charlie Spivak and Cy Zentner. Dolph also worked and recorded with Ira Sullivan, Pete Minger, Chubby and Duffy Jackson; played with Dizzy Gillespie on his 60th birthday, and he also worked with Lou Donaldson, Donald Byrd and many others. (source: Jazzonian) Longtime musical collaborator of TBone, Dan Harris, will be on Guitar. Dan and Tom go back 20+ years with many successful concerts, shows and several recordings. Dan is also called to play with many of the top Jazz Artists in Florida. Rounding out the group is pro drummer Joe Renda. Joe is the main drummer called for because of virtuosity and versatility. Joe has played drums with Gil Parris, Etta Jones, Maria Muldaur, Bobby Lewis, Manfredo Fest, Dave Muse and Tony Monaco, as well as having had a long musical relationship with Connie Francis.

The Hamilton – Harris Project is excited for the opportunity to play this festival as a full band for the very first time!! The band will appear on Saturday for 3 shows!!!!
The Hamilton Harris Project is Tom “TBone” Hamilton on Acoustic & Electric Bass, Dan Harris on Guitar, Mike Aloia on Keys, and Ken Loomer on drums. This band was formed in 2002 and released a Live CD of Standards called “Live Matters”. All of the members of the band have additional music projects that they all are actively working on and involved. The HHP is looking forward to doing this concert as it prepares for it’s upcoming Nationally recognized Jazz concert – The 24th Annual Suncoast Jazz Classic held in late November on Clearwater Beach.

For 23 years, we have been presenting our annual Suncoast Jazz Festival, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz, the only true American art form.
The festival provides opportunities for both professional musicians from all over the United States as well as aspiring young musicians from our community to perform and share their music with enthusiastic and very appreciative audiences in Clearwater, FL. Clearwater Jazz… ahhh.
Because of the generosity of a lot of individual sponsors and attendees, Suncoast Classic Jazz Inc. has been able to give back to the community yearly in the form of financial assistance……. to both individual young musicians as well as bands and local schools. Over the years, contributions total nearly $100,000.

The Tom Hamilton Quartet is a straight ahead Jazz band led by bassist Tom Hamilton. Tom is well known in the Tampa Bay area as one of leading Jazz/Blues bassists. He is also a producer and studio musician. Recently, he recorded on bluesman Roy Book Binder’s new album – “The Good Book” which reached # 3 in the Americana charts last year. Currently he is recording and producing a Willie Dixon tribute album. For this concert Tom has assembled the best Jazz musicians in town. On guitar is Dan Harris. Dan, in addition to being a prolific composer, has played the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, the Suncoast Classic, and is co leader of the Hamilton – Harris Project which will headline the 24th annual Suncoast Jazz Classic in 2014. On is piano is Tom Becker. Tom Becker has played piano for Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders, backed Martha Reeves, studied 6 years in college Piano Performance. He has played Jazz solo, duals, trios, Quartets, and larger, and is currently at Chill in St Pete Beach 3 nights a week. Fred Edinborgh hails from New York where he played with top Jazz musicians like Chet Baker. Since moving to Florida he been a 1st call Jazz drummer working for the Al Downing Jazz Association, the Hard Rock Casino, and many other concerts in between. This show will be dedicated to the late Jazz Promoter, Rick Gee. Tom and Rick were close friends and put on many successful concerts together. If you love Jazz and improvisation – you will not want to miss this concert!
