BoneHead Records Launches the Late Blues Harmonica Legend Rock Bottom’s “Harmaniac” Digital Album

St. Petersburg, Florida – December 19, 2025 – BoneHead Records is thrilled to announce the launch of Harmaniac, the powerful digital album from the late blues harmonica legend Rock Bottom (David C. York, 1948-2001). Available now for streaming and digital download, this collection showcases York's electrifying stage presence, razor-edged harmonica tone, and signature blend of amplified Chicago blues with New Orleans rhythms—that capture the essence of a true blues master. Rock Bottom, a highly respected Florida-based blues harmonica player, vocalist, and songwriter, began his blues journey in 1966 at the age of 18.

He honed his craft in West Central Florida's iconic jook joints and predominantly Black clubs, such as The Honey Dripper, The Palms, Richard's Fun Spot in Bradenton, Club Toro and Manhattan Lounge in Sarasota, and Wagon Wheel in Palmetto. Performing classics by Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Sonny Boy Williamson II, he became a cornerstone of the Florida blues scene before it gained mainstream popularity among white audiences. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, his bands served as vital gathering points for local blues players, much like Tampa Red's venues in Chicago during earlier decades.

Famous as a "harp playing monster" and an "Entertainer of the highest caliber," York mentored many younger players and collaborated with blues legends such as "Diamond Teeth" Mary McClain, Blind Willie James, and Roy Book Binder. His international reach was immense, touring Scandinavia and Europe over 30 times since 1981—becoming a major contributor to the blues scene in Norway—and gracing countless stages and festivals across the United States.

Now, through BoneHead Records, fans can access Harmaniac directly, preserving York's timeless legacy for new generations. The album features standout tracks like "Boozoo Stomp," "Gator Tail," "Voodoo Idol," "Run and Hide," "Ellie May," "Cigarette Blues," "Hot For A Woman," "Lets Go Jookin'," "Keep Your Hands Off Of Him," "Stormy Monday," "Big Mamoo," "St. Pete Kid," "Snakie's Ribs," "Truckin' Little Sucker," and "St. Pete Stomp."

Founded by acclaimed Tampa Bay bassist, vocalist, and producer Tom “TBone” Hamilton, BoneHead Records is a digital haven for the “greatest music you never heard.” With a mission to preserve and amplify the legacies of extraordinary artists often overlooked by mainstream channels, the platform empowers musicians to connect directly with fans—no middlemen, just pure music and unfiltered access to downloads and physical shipments.

Tom “TBone” Hamilton, whose own career spans over three decades with bands like The Swinging Johnsons, The Hamilton-Harris Project, and his namesake TBone Hamilton Band, has long championed the blues, jazz, and Americana scenes.

“Rock Bottom wasn’t just a harmonica player—he was a force of nature, blending Chicago grit with New Orleans groove in ways that electrified every room he entered,” said Hamilton. “Over my 30+ years in the trenches, I’ve crossed paths with giants like Rock Bottom, and his talent deserves to roar louder than ever. We’re overjoyed to welcome Harmaniac to BoneHead Records, giving fans the chance to own a piece of blues history straight from the source.
